GHRP-6 and the hunger thing

Everyone who mentions GHRP-6 mentions extreme hunger. Is that the compound or is that people expecting it?

That one is the compound, and it is mechanistically expected rather than a surprise.

It acts at the ghrelin receptor. Ghrelin is the hunger hormone — that is essentially its job description. So an agonist at that receptor producing hunger is the mechanism working, not a side effect in the sense of something unexplained.

It is also the specific problem ipamorelin was developed to avoid, along with the cortisol and prolactin business. Selectivity is the whole selling point of the newer one.

So the older compound's headline side effect is the newer one's reason for existing. Neat.
